Who is TOCK ?

TOCK dedicates his creative practice to two primary fields: classical visual art and immersive event production. His work in traditional acrylic painting—on canvas and wood—emphasizes abstract imagery, encouraging viewers to engage with each piece through their own interpretations.

He studied Fine Art at both the University of Colorado Boulder and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), where he honed his technical skills in painting and printmaking. Following his academic training, TOCK expanded his practice into metalwork, studying as an apprentice welder at Bader Art Metal. This transition allowed him to translate his abstract visual language into three-dimensional form through sculptural metalwork.

In addition to his studio practice, TOCK is actively involved in the production and curation of large-scale music events. He conceived and executed a three-part event series titled Spice Factory in downtown Chicago, which showcased eight emerging DJs over three weekends. Hosted in an industrial warehouse outfitted with modern lighting design, the series created a distinct underground rave aesthetic.

TOCK is also the founder and lead creative behind Desert Lights, an annual music festival held in southern Colorado. Now in its third year, the festival has featured over a dozen DJs from across the United States. Each year, TOCK designs and constructs a one-of-a-kind stage structure, complemented by dynamic lighting arrays that create a vivid contrast against the natural beauty of the surrounding mountain landscape. His goal is to merge sound, light, and environment to create a multisensory experience rooted in joy.

Whether through painting, sculpture, or live event production, TOCK’s ultimate objective is to offer audiences a fresh and uplifting experience. He considers his work successful when it fosters a moment of discovery, connection, or emotional resonance.
