Who is TOCK ?

TOCK is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans classical visual art and immersive event production. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas and wood, his paintings explore abstraction through layered forms, movement, and texture—inviting viewers to arrive at their own interpretations and emotional connections.

He studied Fine Art at both the University of Colorado Boulder and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he developed a strong foundation in painting and printmaking. Expanding beyond traditional studio work, TOCK later trained as an apprentice welder at Bader Art Metal, translating his abstract visual language into sculptural metal forms and large-scale installations.

Alongside his visual art practice, TOCK produces and curates immersive music events centered around underground electronic culture. He is the creator of Spice Factory, a Chicago-based rave series that has hosted emerging DJs across multiple large-scale events. Set within industrial spaces and paired with atmospheric lighting design, the series blends sound, architecture, and visual storytelling into a cohesive underground experience.

TOCK is also the founder and creative director of Desert Lights, an annual music festival in southern Colorado now entering its fourth year. The festival has featured DJs from across the United States and is known for its custom-built environments and immersive lighting installations set against the surrounding mountain landscape. Each year, TOCK designs and constructs a new stage concept, merging sculpture, light, and music into a singular multi-sensory environment.

Across painting, sculpture, and live event production, TOCK’s work is driven by the desire to create moments of discovery, connection, and emotional energy. His practice seeks to blur the boundaries between visual art and lived experience, transforming both galleries and event spaces into environments that feel immersive, dynamic, and deeply human.
